Here are just a few of our recent backsplash tiles:
This piece was commissioned for a hospital lobby but we think it would make a great backsplash.
Here’s a new piece we made for a client in Washington, DC. The piece is 36″ w x 60″ h and is grouted in place in her shower. It is glazed in Robin’s Egg, Jade and Honey overspray.
Here’s an example of how just a few tiles can brighten a kitchen.
These tiles were commissioned for grouting into a mantel above a fireplace but they would look great as kitchen or bathroom backsplash tiles. They are glazed in persimmon.

Backsplash Ideas
In researching backsplash ideas on the web, we came across this advice from Tim, at Askthebuilder.com:
“It’s no surprise to me that you keep gravitating to ceramic tile for your backsplash. A tile backsplash will last for years, and will add beauty to your kitchen. I have installed ceramic tile at backsplash locations between the countertops and the underside of kitchen wall cabinets for years, and each homeowner was dazzled by the final appearance. Ceramic tile makes sense when you are mulling over backsplash ideas because it is durable, easy to clean, colorful and can add texture to an otherwise dull, flat boring wall space. In recent years, there seems to have been an explosion of new tile colors, patterns, styles and textures, many of which are perfect for areas directly behind a kitchen sink and cooktop areas.”
Unalun tiles are ideally suited for backsplash applications. Unalun tiles can be grouted in place or free hung using our unique hanging system.
Here’s what the Home Garden TV site says about backsplash tile:
“With so many colorful tile choices available today, function is no longer the primary concern for backsplashes. Sometimes it’s all about the beautiful choice. Originally, backsplashes were installed to protect surfaces from water. With so many colorful tile choices available today, function is no longer the primary concern. Backsplashes are now an important design element in the bath.”
